We Moved — Here's Why, Where, and What's Different 🏥
If you've been coming to South Pasadena Animal Hospital for any length of time, you know the Fremont Ave location. You also know the parking situation there was — let's be generous — not great. Two spots on a good day. Clients double-parking on the street. That one neighbor who'd leave notes on windshields. It had character, but it wasn't working anymore.
So we moved. And yes, we know what you're thinking: "South Pasadena Animal Hospital... in Alhambra?" Fair question. The short version is we outgrew the old space and found a much better one a few miles east. The name stays because that's who we are — same hospital, same team, same phone number. Just a new address.
Where We Are Now
3116 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801
Phone: (626) 441-1314 — same number as always.
We're right off Main Street with easy access from both the 10 and the 710. For most of you, the drive is about the same as it was — or shorter. Here's a rough breakdown by city:
- Monterey Park — 5–8 minutes
- South Pasadena — 8 minutes
- San Marino — 10 minutes
- San Gabriel — under 10 minutes
- Temple City — 10 minutes
- Rosemead — 10 minutes
- El Sereno — 10 minutes
- Monterey Hills — 10 minutes
- Pasadena — 10–15 minutes
- Arcadia — 10–15 minutes
- Glendale — 15 minutes
- Highland Park — 15–20 minutes
- Eagle Rock — 15–20 minutes
- Altadena — 15–20 minutes
If you're not sure about your specific drive, just plug 3116 W Main St, Alhambra into your maps app. Most people are pleasantly surprised.
What Changed
Parking. This is the big one. We've got 15+ spots now. Fifteen. If you ever circled the block on Fremont Ave three times with an anxious cat in the backseat, you understand why we're leading with this.
The new space is also just bigger. More exam room space, more room for our team to work, more room for your pets to be comfortable while they're here. And the freeway access is genuinely better — the 10 and the 710 are both close, which makes getting here from most of the SGV pretty straightforward.
One more thing: grooming is coming. We don't have a firm launch date yet, but it's in the works. Follow us on Instagram (@southpasah) for updates on that.
What Didn't Change
Dr. Sylvia Chiang and Dr. Gina Navia are still here. Same doctors, same team, same front desk. Nobody went anywhere — we just changed buildings.
Same phone number: (626) 441-1314.
We still see dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, bearded dragons, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, chickens, tortoises, and ball pythons. If it's a pet and it needs a vet, we probably see it.
And we're still privately owned. Not part of a corporate chain. Not backed by private equity. Just a small animal hospital run by the people who actually work in it. That hasn't changed and it won't.
For Our South Pasadena Clients
We know this adds a few minutes to your drive. We're not going to pretend it doesn't. If you were walking distance from the old Fremont Ave location, this is a real change, and we get that.
But honestly — the parking alone makes up for it. No more circling, no more street parking half a block away, no more carrying a crate down the sidewalk in July. You pull in, you park, you walk right in. It's a different experience.
And for everyone in the east San Gabriel Valley who used to drive past three other clinics to get to us on Fremont? You're closer now. Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Rosemead, Temple City — we're right in your neighborhood.
Come See the Space
We're not going to hit you with a big dramatic "new chapter" speech. It's the same hospital. We just have a better building now, with actual parking and room to breathe.
If you haven't been in yet, come by. Bring your pet or don't — we're happy to show you around either way. Same care, better parking, more room for everyone.
If you're new to the area and still looking for the right fit, we wrote a guide on how to choose a vet in Alhambra — what to look for, what questions to ask, and why it matters more than most people think when picking a practice.
